Gios Torino Räder in ihren traditionellen blauen Farben gehören wohl zu den bekanntesten Rädern der Siebziger und Achtziger Jahren. Im Jahre 1948 legte Tolmino Gios den Grundstein der Firma zunächst mit einem Fahrradladen. Seit Anfang der 1970er hat sich das Unternehmen auf Rennräder spezialisiert und stellt seitdem das Material für diverse Rennställe. Die größten Erfolge erreichten Gios-Fahrräder in den späten 1970ern mit den Brooklyn- und IJsboerke-Rennställen. Mit Brooklyn auf Gios-Rädern fuhren Roger De Vlaeminck und Patrick Sercu. De Vlaeminck gewann in dieser Zeit dreimal Paris–Roubaix auf einem Gios-Rad sowie Mailand–Sanremo, die Flandern-Rundfahrt und die Lombardei-Rundfahrt. Er wurde Zweiter der Straßen-WM der Profis. Auch ein gewisser Didi Thurau wurde auf Gios Rädern berühmt.

Das hier angebotene Rad ist ein Modell Super Record aus dem Jahre 1977 mit der traumhaft schönen "GT" Tretlagermuffe. Der Zustand des besonderen Klassikers ist der Wahnsinn. Alle Anbauteile befinden sich in einem neuwertigen Zustand. Kratzer sucht man vergebens an diesem Renner. Der Laufradsatz mit edlen Campagnolo Hochflanschnaben läuft wie vor mehr als 40 Jahren. Man beachte auch die GIOS "Didi Thurau" Flasche am Rad.

Wer einen Klassiker eines der bekanntesten italienischen Rahmenbauers sucht, der sogar heute noch aktiv ist, der findet mit diesem Gios einen wunderbaren Begleiter. Dieses Rad ist bestens geeignet um an klassischen Ausfahren wie der L´Eroica teilzunehmen.

Gios Torino bikes in their traditional blue colours are probably among the most famous bikes of the seventies and eighties. In 1948, Tolmino Gios laid the foundation stone of the company, initially with a bicycle shop. Since the beginning of the 1970s, the company has specialised in racing bikes and has since provided the material for various racing teams. Gios bicycles achieved their greatest successes in the late 1970s with the Brooklyn and IJsboerke racing teams. Roger De Vlaeminck and Patrick Sercu raced with Brooklyn on Gios bikes. De Vlaeminck won Paris-Roubaix three times on a Gios bike during this period, as well as Milan-Sanremo, the Tour of Flanders and the Tour of Lombardy. He finished second in the World Road Championships for professionals. A certain Didi Thurau also became famous on Gio's bikes.

The bike offered here is a Super Record model from 1977 with the fantastically beautiful "GT" bottom bracket lug. The condition of this special classic is amazing. All parts are in mint condition. You won't find any scratches on this racer. The wheelset with noble Campagnolo high flange hubs runs like it did more than 40 years ago. Note the GIOS "Didi Thurau" bottle on the wheel.
